Building and Grounds Committee

  1. Responsibilities
  The responsibilities of the Building and Grounds Committee shall be to:

     a.  be responsible for maintaining, in suitable condition, the grounds, building and equipment of the church.

     b.  prepare and keep up to date a property inventory, with remarks as to the condition of each specific group of items.

     c.  provide for and supervise the upkeep and repairs which may be authorized.

     d.  prepare and keep current a list of the equipment and material needs for all church property and facilities, with a breakdown of prices and/or installation costs for maintenance-type items.

     e.  be in charge of and responsible for the sexton and other personnel hired for the purpose of upkeep and maintenance. (Cross-reference - a.)

     f.  be responsible for closing the church following Sunday morning worship and other worship services as required. (Cross-reference - b.)

     g.  maintain the parking facilities of the church.

     h.  determine suitability of property gifts from individuals and make recommendations to the Session.

     i.  prepare committee budget recommendations annually for submission to the Stewardship Committee by October 1st.

     j.  annually, prior to October 1st, provide the input needed to the P;ampA Committee to evaluate the Job Description of the Sexton.
